History

With the organization of the Swan Valley Historical Society in 1970, it soon became evident the need for a Museum in the community. This became a reality in 1972 with assistance from the Rotary Club of Swan River, when the first building was constructed. In 1974 the second part of the Main building was added for more display room, Administration Office and storage. Land purchased from Evan Jones by SVHS.
